The Georgia International and Maritime Trade Center Authority (GIMTCA), which governs the Savannah International Trade & Convention Center (SITCC), has selected Songy Highroads, LLC., in partnership with Omni Hotels & Resorts, to develop a convention headquarters hotel.
It will be located on Hutchison Island adjacent to the riverfront convention center, which is managed by the Georgia World Congress Center Authority (GWCCA).
DB Systems’ Event Networks team has secured a 10-year contract to be the exclusive provider of data connectivity and networking services at new venue, Hall 1, at Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre.
DB Systems has worked at the Farnborough Airshow for almost two decades and has supplied site-wide connectivity services for the Farnborough Airshow since 2008.
The 10-year contract to supply connectivity to Hall 1 will see DB Systems invest heavily in the venue, installing high-density Wi-Fi, cutting-edge connectivity hardware and an unrivalled network infrastructure.
U.K.-based UBM bought Allworld Exhibitions, a privately-owned Asian exhibitions business operating 51 tradeshows in 11 countries and across nine industry sectors, for $485 million.
Allworld generated revenues of $97.2 million and EBITDA of $37.6 million (38.7 percent margin) during the 12 months ended 30 June 2016.
Detroit’s Cobo Center recently completed a $2 million technology upgrade, which included an upgraded Nortel core switch that distributes the WiFi signal and along with several new Nortel edge switches located throughout the center.
“For the visitors that use our WiFi network, these upgrades will be like moving from a one lane highway to a three lane super-speedway,” said Claude Molinari, general manager of SMG/Cobo Center.
Emerald Expositions is on a buying streak, snagging another show recently - the American Craft Retailers Expo (“ACRE”) from IndieMe.
